Greetings! My name is Penny Engel, I am extremely pleased to be your child’s teacher this year.  I grew up in San Antonio and have lived in Austin for the past 20 years. This is my 30th year of teaching with having taught Kindergarten, First, Second, Fourth and Fifth grades. 

Fifth grade is such an exciting year!  I will do my very best to provide a safe learning environment that nurtures creativity, enhances personal growth and encourages the use of critical thinking skills.
We will be learning new concepts and reinforcing other skills as the year progresses.

When not at school, I am involved with my son, daughter and husband. I enjoy reading, traveling and going to the movies.
