Hi! My name is Ruth Burrell.  I am so happy to your be child's teacher this year.  Central Texas has always been my home.  This is my fifth year as a teacher at Decker.  I received my undergraaduate degree from St. Edwards University in Austin and my teacher certification and Master's  degree in education from Texas State University in San Marcos.  

Fourth grade presents exciting challenges for the students.  The children will learn math in many hands on, cooperative learning activities.  Our math environment provides opportunities for the students to apply real situations and problems to the learning of math.   I will do my very best to provide a safe learning place for your child, a place where they can feel free to be themselves and to find the joy and fun in learning.

I share with the children the things I do outside of school.  I love to attend all types of sporting events, especially football; I go to lots of movies, and I absolutely love to read.  I am a lifelong learner, so I take any opportunity to learn more about the academic and social needs of fourth graders.
