My name is Leslie Snyder and I am blessed to be your child's teacher this year!  My interest in teaching developed after I earned a Master of Arts degree in Psychology and began substitute teaching.  I immediately discovered the deep satisfaction of nurturing children’s strengths and talents in a school setting, and gradually became unable to imagine myself doing anything other than becoming a teacher.

Now I partner with the students, parents, and faculty of Decker Elementary to elicit strengths, nurture dreams, and encourage excellence in the precious children in my classroom.  I am blessed to know each child and I will do everything I can to help each scholar uncover and build on the many gifts and talents he or she brings to this world.  I call my students scholars because it is my profound hope that each will become a person who has developed a true love of learning by the time this year is over.

My interests outside of school include practicing yoga, exercising at the gym, cooking at home, dining in restaurants with friends and family, and watching my favorite television shows.

I am confident that together we can ensure our Scholars have a successful year. I look forward to being a part of your child’s journey as he or she falls in love with learning!
