2017-18 Academic Calendar

The results are in, and Manor ISD staff and community members favor the innovative calendar for the 2017-18 school year.

On Jan. 10, Manor ISD started soliciting feedback from community members about their preferred calendar options for the 2017-18 school year. The options were for an innovative calendar featuring a weeklong fall break in October, three day weekends every month, and a week in August for teacher preparation before students return.

Manor ISD posted a FAQ about the innovative calendar which can be found here.

Manor ISD received 1,049 responses in the survey, of which 868, or 82.7 %, voted for the innovative calendar. 181 respondents, or 17.3 percent, voted for the traditional calendar.

63.1 percent of those who voted were a district employee. 36.9 percent were not district employees.

The Manor ISD Board of Trustees will vote on a final calendar option at the regular called board meeting Monday Jan. 23.
