Welcome to Mentor Manor!

Mentor Manor, a school-based mentoring initiative, pairs adult volunteers one-on-one with students in need of positive influences in their lives.

A mentor provides encouragement and helps a student develop his/her strengths and talents by supporting the efforts of other significant adults.

Research has shown that the more caring adults a child has in his/her life, the less like he/she will engage in risky behaviors.

You can make a positive impact in the life of Manor ISD student by giving 30-45 minutes of your time every week.

Mentors meet once weekly, during the school day, for 30-45 minutes at the mentee's school. We ask that mentors commit for one school year.

How do I become a mentor?

Complete the online Volunteer Application and the online Criminal Background Check form.

While your application and background checks are being processed, please email or call Mentor Coordinator Mayra Hernandez to schedule a mentor training.  The training will take approximately one hour and during the session, we can discuss your preferences as far as grade level and school preference,

After your training, we will schedule a time to introduce you to your new mentor and tour the school.

We look forward to working with you and helping you positively impact a life!
