Mentor Manor

Mentor Manor, a school-based mentoring program, pairs adult volunteer one-on-one with students in need of positive influence in their lives.

A mentor provides encouragement and helps a student develop his/her strengths and talents by supporting the efforts of other significant adults.

Research has shown that the more caring adults a child has in his/her life, the less likely he/she will engage in risky behaviors.

You can make a positive impact in the life of a Manor ISD student by giving 30-45 minutes of your time each week.

How do I become a mentor?

Complete the online Volunteer Application and the online Criminal Background Check form.

(The new online process will be added by August 3rd.  Stay tuned!)

While your application and background check is being processed, please email or contact Mentor Coordinator Mayra Hernandez to schedule a mentor training.  The training will take approximately one hour and during the session, we can discuss your preferences as far as grade level and school preference.

Following your training, we will schedule a time to introduce you to your mentee and give you a tour of the school.

We look forward to working with you and helping you positively impact a life of a child.
